Album purchase
When should I purchase my album?
You can buy your album at any point before or after your baby is born. Once your album is registered either by buying an album for yourself or redeeming a gift voucher, all features will be ready to use. This means your family and friends can start uploading baby photos immediately. Your album will be live for a year from the date you first publish it so if you don't get round to editing it for 6 months after your baby is born, don't worry, you won't have lost any time on your album. You will need to make sure you publish your album within one year of your registration date (purchase or gift voucher redemption date) so we know you are going to actively use it.

I have a discount voucher, how do I use it?
Click on 'purchase' and choose 'buy album for ourselves' and follow the registration instructions. You will need to enter the discount code at the order confirmation page and your order will be recalculated.

I don't live in the UK, can I still buy an album?
If you live outside the UK you will still be charged in pounds sterling and you will be subject to the prevailing exchange rate at point of purchase. You may incur additional charges via your card issuer.
You will still need to read and agree to the standard terms and conditions regardless of where you live. We may also need to contact you to arrange payment of any additional postage charges and any other charges required to send your cards to your place of residence.

Can I extend the time my album is available for?
Yes, your album will be available online for one year from the date you first publish it. We will contact you before it expires to see if you wish to extend your album for an additional 12 months. By extending your album, all features will be available to you so you can continue to fully use your album.

Information for guests
How will my family and friends know we have an album?
We provide you with personalised invitation cards to give to your family and friends. You can either give them out when you see them or include them with any thank you cards you send for gifts you receive for your baby.

When will my personalised invitation cards arrive?
We will process your cards as soon as your order is confirmed. We will dispatch your cards within 14 working days.
It is important that you keep your postal address up to date in your 'manage account' section to ensure we send your cards to the right address and avoid any delays.
There may be a delay if you pay by Paypal eCheque as the transaction will be held as pending for seven to nine working days, until the electronic funds transfer clears your bank. If this is the case, we will contact you to let you know of the delay. This is out of our control and we will process your order as soon as we can. We will only send out your cards once the payment has cleared.

Uploading photos
How many photos can my family and friends upload?
Your album will allow 1Gb of photos to be uploaded. We resize each photo on upload to ensure the upload facility and album features work quickly and efficiently. This means that you will be able to have approximately 1,000 photos in your album. When you log in to your album you will see how much space you have left.
If your album fills up you can easily delete photos to make room for new ones. You can download your photos before deleting them to make sure you keep a copy.

How long can family and friends upload photos for?
Your friends and family can upload photos for as long as your album is live. This means from the day you purchase your album to 12 months after the date you first publish your album. If you extend your album after the first 12 months your family and friends can continue to upload their photos.

Can my family and friends upload videos to my album?
No, only photographs can be uploaded in .jpg, .bmp and .gif file formats.

What quality will the uploaded photos be?
We will save three versions of each photo so they can be displayed as thumbnails and a suitable onscreen size. The third size is for any photos that you or your guests download - this size will be suitable for printing at a standard 7x5 photo size providing the original uploaded photo is of sufficient quality.

What if someone uploads an unsuitable photo?
You will be able to delete any photos that your guests upload that you don't want to keep. Arrival of the Year also reserves the right to monitor all photos being uploaded and delete any inappropriate images.
Please review the terms and conditions for what Arrival of the Year considers to be inappropriate images. If the administrator suspends any photos, you will be sent an email and the prohibited content will be moved to your discarded photos section. You can contact us if you would like the photo to be reinstated to your album and we will reassess the photo against our prohibited content criteria. We have this policy for everyone's enjoyment.

What will my photos be used for if I upload them?
By uploading your photos you are agreeing that they can be displayed via www.arrivaloftheyear.com and that anyone with the guest login details of the album you contribute to can download a copy and order prints and photo products of your image(s) if they wish. If you do not want your photos to be used in this way, please do not upload your photos. Further information can be found in the terms and conditions that need to be read and agreed to before uploading your photos.

Album features
Can we print any of the photos uploaded to our album?
We have teamed up with Photobox so you can order photos and photo products like Photobooks. You and your guests will be able to download the photos from your online album and then upload your favourites to Photobox to place your order. The quality of these downloaded images will be suitable for printing at 7x5 providing the original uploaded photo is of sufficient quality.

What if I want to keep the photos forever?
You can download the photos from your online album and save or print them. You can also extend the time your album is available online should you wish. Extending your album will mean that all your album features will continue to be available to you.

Gift album
Can I buy an album as a gift?
An online baby album from Arrival of the Year can make a unique gift. You can purchase an album as a gift by clicking on 'purchase' and following the instructions for gift purchases. We will send out a gift voucher either to the purchaser or the intended gift recipient. You can choose this during purchase. The recipient will then need to redeem the gift voucher to register their album and the album will be set up straightaway.

I have received a gift voucher, how do I use it?
Click on 'purchase' and choose the third option 'redeem a gift voucher' and following the instructions to redeem your gift voucher and register your details.
Once you have registered your album we will send you a confirmation email and your album will be ready to use straightaway.

Album security
Is my album secure?
Only you have access to the whole of your album using your master username and password. If you think your security has been compromised, please visit 'manage album' and click on the 'forgot username or password' link to reset your password.

What if my family and friends forget the guest username or password?
In order to control the people uploading photos to your album or viewing your album we will not disclose your guest username or guest password to anyone. This is because we do not know who your family and friends are and whether the person attempting to access your album is known to you. Your family and friends will need to contact you directly to ask for the guest login details for your album.
